The Punjab government has introduced strict winter school timings, announcing fines of up to Rs. 500,000 for public and private schools that open before 8:45 AM. The new regulations will be enforced from November 3, 2025, to January 31, 2026, as part of the province’s winter adjustment policy.
Under the revised schedule, single-shift schools will operate from 8:45 AM to 1:30 PM Monday through Thursday, with Friday classes ending at 12:30 PM. Double-shift schools will follow the same morning hours, while afternoon shifts will run from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Monday to Thursday and from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Fridays.
Authorities have warned that any institution opening earlier than the mandated time will face strict action, including heavy penalties, to ensure full compliance with the government-issued directive.
